Historical/Legendary Background

The name "BUSAY" came from the old name of the falls found in the place called "Busay Falls."


It is bounded on the North by Barangay Mahaba; on the South by Barangay Barayong; on the East by Barangay Balogo (Oas); on the West by Barangay Herrera. Its land area is more or less 379.46 ha.


The people celebrate their annual barrio fiesta every 14th day of May in honor of their Patron Saint, San Buenaventura.

Brief Profile

Demography. As of 2007, the barangay has a total population of 1,135.

Education. Residents of the barangay share school with Centro Poblacion and the nearby barangays.

Health. There is no health center established yet. Every service rendered by the health personnel is rendered at the house of Barangay Captain or either on house-to-house basis.

Economics. Farming is the people's main occupation. The main crops produced are palay, corn and copra. 

Infrastructures. There is a newly constructed Barangay Center in the place.
