LGU Ligao Commemorates 115th Rizal Day

To honor our National Hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the city government of Ligao celebrated Rizal Day, last December 30, 2011,6:30 a.m. at the Ligao City  Pavillion.

 Hosted by Mrs. Ruby Gaid, the ceremony started with an invocation and the flag raising surfacing the theme: " Rizalismo: Sandigan ng Kaunlaran, Pagkakaisa at Kapayapaan."

LGU inks MOA on Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Protection

Ligao City celebrates for being top performing cityPursuant to RA 8550, otherwise known as the Fisheries Code of 1998, most particularly the provisions on illegal fishing and protection of fisheries and aquatic resources, a signing of Memorandum of Agreement on Ligao City Illegal Fishing and Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Protection Task Force took place last December 22, 2011 at La Terraza  Restaurant, Tuburan, Ligao City.

City Government presents Christmas Cheers 2011

 

Every year, the people of Ligao witness joyous production numbers from various sectors and groups in the City.  Christmas Cheers is an annual activity sponsored by the City Government in line with the Christmas Celebration. For 10 nights, everyone can enjoy and feel the spirit of Christmas in each creative presentation. The performances are being held at the City Pavilion every 7 o’clock in the evening. Ligao City Lights Up its Giant Christmas Tree

The month of December marks not just the joyous celebration of Christmas but also Ligao’s Town Fiesta in honor of St. Stephen, the Protomartyr.

Every year, the City Government comes up with festive activities for the enjoyment of its citizens. To mark the start of a month-long Celebration is the lighting of the Giant Christmas Tree. On the night of Dec. 4, 2011, the citizens of Ligao join together as Mayor Linda P. Gonzalez and former Ligao City Mayor, now Congressman of the 3rd District of Albay, Hon. Fernando V. Gonzalez, finally lit up the City’s Giant Christmas Tree that stands right at the center of Ligao and serves as a remarkable sight attracting onlookers and spectators.

DILG awards Ligao the Gawad Pamana ng Lahi in Region V for City Category

Ligao City celebrates for being top performing cityLigao City, among all cities in the Bicol Region, won the prestigious Gawad Pamana ng Lahi award for the City Category for its exemplary performance in local governance.

Mayor Linda P. Gonzalez, in her message in the Regional Awarding Ceremony last October 7, 2011, said that the award they received bespeak the future of the City Government-- the vision to become a nationally, or even internationally competitive trade and educational center in the 3rd District of Albay.
